The Finnish Forest History Society

The Finnish Forest History Society promotes widely the multidisciplinary studies, documenting and the interest in forest history traditions. The Society works as a connected network of researchers, enthusiasts and field specialists. The Finnish Forest History Society is a member of the The Federation of Finnish Learned Societies.

The Finnish Forest History Society activities are journeys, seminaries and research meetings and also research and publication projects. The Society informs about our activities, and the current events, publications and researches of the forestry field, on our website member bulletin Susikko.

Established in 1994 the emblem of The Finnish Forest History Society is ‘susikko’, young spruce link which were used to tie booms together in timber rafting. You can apply for membership if you are interested in forest history or anything else mentioned above.
